Study Resources for NEET - Chemistry
The Chemistry section in NEET 2020 was a honest let down in terms of all the preparation that had been done. After braving the storms of the S,P,D and F block of the periodic table, preventing my head from exploding due to the heat of thermodynamics, getting myself in equilibrium by organically making this cacophony come together as a symphony.
Basically all that came, was from the NCERT. I had chanted so much chemistry over the past 2 years that, I could have woken up Mendeleev from his grave.
Grade 11 :
- Test Series by Allen Coaching Institute (Nurture 2 year test series)
- Chemistry NCERT
- MTG Chemistry MCQs
The MTG chemistry MCQs gives a good idea about the previous year questions. But questions from very old papers are irrelevant due to syllabus changes.
Organic chemistry questions particularly from the test series were very challenging. The questions were mainly out of the NCERT and the my basic concepts were not clear. The covid-19 lockdown period gave me enough time to reinforce my concepts through youtube videos. I suggest you use the popular reference books at an early stage. (I used Pradeep's for Chemistry from Grade 12, it also helped me with my board exams).
Grade 12 :
- Test Series by Allen and Akash Coaching Institutes ( All India Tests by Akash)
- Daily Tests by Akash
- The Daily Test series had a question and answer section, viewing the questions that other students asked introduced me to newer concepts.
- Pradeep's Chemistry
- NCERT Fingertips Chemistry (only completed S,P,D and F block, organic chemistry chapters)
Post Board Exam (6 month period)
The NEET crash course by Akash continued for a month.
Much of the information imparted in the crash course, reiterated much of the information that I had already learnt from Pradeep's and during the board exam preparation.
The cons of the crash course is that, there isn't enough time to build the concepts. They just give you the fish rather than telling you, how to catch the fish. I would suggest a more long term online course.
The MCQs behind each chapter, were very useful to solve. I did not know many and was forced to watch multiple youtube videos.

The important thing is to base your learning on the NCERT. To stick to and have confidence on your learning pattern.
